OUR PROGRAMS

We are very proud of our programs – the quality of curriculum and faculty, the variety of activities & offerings, and the close, nurturing environment of our school. In addition to a carefully planned yet flexible daily schedule, Rabbi Kormis and Hazzan Shamash also join the children on a regular basis in storytelling at holiday time, Shabbat celebrations, or just stopping by to say hello.

Classes

2s Class with Ms. Genn and Ms. Carrie — Mon-Fri 9:15 am-12:15 pm (or 1:15 pm with lunch program option)
This is the start of your child’s first experience with exploring a preschool environment independently. Therefore, our primary focus is to lead you and your child comfortably through the separation process (and potty-training!) It’s fun and exciting — and not at all scary. Your child will get to experience hands-on learning and begin to learn to work in small groups, or one-on-one with a peer and a teacher. So don’t be surprised when your “little baby” becomes more and more independent every day! Class size is limited to 8 children with 2 teachers per classroom. Children do not need to be potty-trained.

3s Class with Ms. Mara and Ms. Sue — Mon-Fri 9:15 am-1:15 pm (includes lunch break)
3-day, 4-day, and 5-day options; you choose the days!
The day follows a flexible schedule that helps develop routines, and offers time to explore independently and learn through group play. Your child is introduced to pre-reading and pre-writing skills, along with counting and comparing groups in math, as well as some cool science, music, and creative arts activities! The class also enjoys field trips to our local library and fire department, plus outside programs that visit the classroom to enhance the curriculum. Class size is limited to 13 children with 2 teachers per classroom. Children do not need to be potty-trained.

4s Class with Ms. Jessica — Mon-Fri 9:15 am-1:15 pm (includes lunch break)
This special curriculum cultivates your child’s pre- reading, math, and writing readiness skills needed to prepare for Kindergarten. Working in small groups with lots of time dedicated for individual attention, your child will share in a wide range of wonderful (and wonder-filled!) science, art, music, and dramatic play activities — all carefully designed for 4-year-old development and fun! They’ll also go on field trips to children’s plays, to Plasko’s Farm, and more. And of course, we finish the year with a very special Graduation to which the whole family (grandparents too!) are invited.

Enrichment Programs

As part of our enrichment programming now offered Monday through Friday, children will participate in a short mindful meditation and yoga rest period. Our enrichment classes run from 1:15-2:15 pm. Some of the Enrichment Programs we offer:

We’ve Got the Beat!
This class is an awesome opportunity for your child to sing, dance, and play simple instruments like egg shakers, drumsticks, and castanets to their heart’s content — all to a rhythmic beat! These lessons give children the chance to shake their sillies out, and explore the fun of music.

Full STEAM Ahead
STEAM learning is the hot area in education these days, and this class offers the chance to see what it is all about. Your child will explore fun and interesting science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) activities that challenge their minds and develop problem solving skills. These activities particularly support creativity, curiosity, and outside-the-box thinking.

Energy Burn
It’s not just fun group games like Freeze Tag, What time is Mr. Fox? and Sharks and Minnows (just to name a few). This class also offers the opportunity to learn various sports such as soccer, lacrosse, tennis, baseball, and football — along with sportsmanship, taking turns, and working as a team.

Exploring the Arts
This class will alternate between exploring an author and bringing a book to life one week, and learning about an artist & different types of art media the next. Using a variety of materials, this program incorporates music, art, and science in a hands-on, exciting, and fun program as the children embrace a love for the arts.

Early & Extended Day

Early Drop Off

8:15-9:15 am. During this time, children get the opportunity to release some steam in our gross motor skills room, before launching their day in the classroom. Children who need a slower start will have story time, games, and drawing available to them before the kickoff of their school day. Offered annually, or as needed with 48 hours notice. Inquire for details.

Extended Day
If your child stays for enrichment, you can extend their day until 3 pm Monday through Friday! During this time, we play games in small groups, do sensory activities, read stories, and work with manipulatives. And kids love their bonus school time almost as much as parents love their bonus available time! Offered annually, or as needed with 48 hours notice. Inquire for details.
