TEENS

Eighth grade is the last year of their Religious School journey, but it is also the time when our teens learn more about their Jewish tradition and connect more deeply with their Jewish identity. Our curriculum preserves their natural camaraderie over the course of this important year, while introducing exceptional, meaningful Jewish experiences into their lives.

Upon completion of the eighth grade program, our teens are invited and expected to serve as Madrichim in our Religious School, tutoring and partnering with teachers in the classroom.  

Our congregation is one of the strongest supporters of BBYO, whose local chapters meet every other Wednesday here. BBYO is beloved for creating fun, meaningful, and affordable Jewish experiences that bring teens together to form both lifelong friendships and a lasting connection to the Jewish people. We also encourage our teens to attend weekly programs at Merkaz, the jewel of our community that gathers high school students, faculty, and clergy from numerous synagogues in our area.

Last but not least, our Torah Fund has funds available to help our teens to go to Israel in a variety of organized programs, and/or to attend Jewish summer camps such as the brand new Ramah Sports Academy, a unique experience just down the road at Fairfield University that combines Judaism and sports in a fun and meaningful way.
