An extension of your family.

Welcome to K’tanim, a warm, close-knit school of nurturing, experienced early childhood educators welcoming children ages 2-5 from all faiths and backgrounds. As you look around, you’ll find a family-like atmosphere that cultivates real connections — even lifelong friendships — among both the children and among parents as well.

Here, your child is treated like our own, and everyone is part of the family.

Be sure to take advantage of our early drop-off (8:15-9:15 am), extended day (Monday-Friday), and incredible enrichment classes. And for one-year-olds and their parent/caregiver, our Little Explorers program is enrolling now. Learn more.

Never stop exploring.

Like you, we value every child’s uniqueness and total, well-rounded development. We foster your child’s self-confidence and build a solid foundation for learning by encouraging curiosity, creativity, independence, and kindness — while also instilling a love for and basic understanding of Jewish holidays & traditions.

With a daily schedule that is carefully planned yet flexible, your child is invited to explore the wonders of our world through creative art, music, foods, stories, and group play. Hands-on activities and problem-solving experiences cultivate language development, intellectual and social/emotional growth, and fine & gross motor skills. Day after day you’ll see noticeable progress, as your child develops all of the skills needed to be 100% prepared for the start of kindergarten.

What we mean when we say:

Play-based activities: Children meaningfully learn and discover through naturally and independently manipulating materials.

Child-directed approach: Teachers encourage children to explore, ask questions, see answers, and make mistakes through play that is of their own individual interest and choice.

Intentional teaching: Teachers are guides who plan ‘play activities’ based on each student’s interests and individual goals.

You are an integral part of your child’s first school experience.

In addition to your ongoing communication with teachers, you are always welcome in all classes to participate, observe, or share a skill or special interest. Further, monthly meetings of our extraordinary parent committee enable you to both get to know other families, and also be part of the decision-making for guiding preschool activities.
